Business Development Lead

About The Role:

As Business Development Lead for Candid, you will be responsible for driving growth, expanding our client base, and fostering long-term business relationships. Your primary focus will be on identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and implementing effective sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and support our growth.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Identify and Prospect: Research and identify potential clients and market segments, including both local and international prospects, to expand our client base.
  • Business Strategy: Develop and execute comprehensive business development strategies to meet revenue and growth objectives in alignment with the business goals.
  • Sales Process Management: Lead the end-to-end sales process, from initial outreach and discovery meetings to proposal development, negotiation, and contract finalisation.
  • Client Relationship Management: Nurture and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with clients, understanding their needs, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with Marketing Team: Work closely with the marketing team to leverage marketing efforts for lead generation, including crafting targeted campaigns and participating in industry events.
  • Market Research: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, market conditions, and competitors to identify opportunities and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Team Leadership: Support the growth of a business development function to lead the business forward.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Provide regular reports and insights on sales performance, progress, and potential areas for improvement to the management team.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Proven Experience: Minimum 2  years of experience in business development, sales, or account management, specifically within the digital marketing or advertising industry.
  • Understanding of Digital Marketing: Knowledge of various digital marketing channels, including SEO, PPC, social media, content marketing, email marketing, and web analytics.
  • Sales Expertise: Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth in a competitive market.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to deliver compelling presentations and pitches to potential clients.
  • Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation skills to achieve favourable terms and agreements with clients and partners.
  • Leadership Abilities: Experience leading and motivating teams to achieve their best performance.
  • Time Management: Excellent organisational and time management skills to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Relationship Building: Adept at building and maintaining professional relationships with clients, partners, and team members.


  • Existing Network: An established network of contacts, including potential clients and partners.
  • Data-Driven Mindset: Proficiency in data analysis to drive data-driven decision-making and strategizing.
  • Innovative Approach: Ability to think creatively and bring innovative ideas to the business development process.
  • Knowledge of Industry Tools: Familiarity with digital marketing tools and software such as CRM systems, marketing automation platforms, and analytics tools.

As the Business Development Lead, you will play a vital role in shaping the growth and success of our digital marketing agency. Your efforts will contribute significantly to expanding our client base, driving revenue growth, and solidifying our position as a leading player in the digital marketing industry.

Salary: £32,000 – £37,000 + commission depending on experience
